Ross's neck really was not feeling good.
Ross knew he had two choices, excruciating migraines, and not being able to function, run his company, his life, and be in his life, his marriage, and his work.
Or
Take the Botox, deal with the neck pain, and keep his mouth shut to his Doctors and to Kayley.
Ross chose the latter, as he knew it would be the lesser of the two evils.
Ross tried to go about his days, office work, meetings with Tim Patrick and the new account who Tim had told about Ross, be with Kayley emotionally and physically as much as humanly possible. As well as be a partner in a company that made him a mint of money, in another state, which would require regular business trips there.
During certain nights, when Ross could not sleep, afyer satisfying Kayley's emotional and physical needs, Ross tried to work on the potential new project that Tim's friend had brought to Ross.
One night, Kayley called him on it.
"Two am, sir, please come back to bed" Kayley said calmly.
"I took care of you tonight. I'm in pain and cant sleep. Please let me try to do this" Ross said calmly.
"Ross, I'm trying to calm you down" Kayley pointed out.
"Kale, please, I cannot sleep. My neck is killing me. I took Tylenol, and used heating pads, they did not work. I'm not a criminal for trying to use my time wisely" Ross said.
Kayley sighed. "Fine, you are a big boy. I will go back to bed and say nothing. Please just be mindful" Kayley said, going back to bed.
That week, on Wednesday, as Ross had just about hopefully finished an idea that he was preparing to present to Tim's friend, he got a call from his favorite person in Oklahoma.
"Partner, can you come down Friday afternoon to Saturday night? I know you're swamped up there, but I have to discuss a few things with you, and have you meet some people" Fritz said.
"I can try. I've been having some pain in my neck, but if my work for the week is finished here, I think I can. If Teacher gets pissed off, I will tell her to please come with me, or to calm down and control herself" Ross said.
That night, when Ross got home, he had finished his work frr Tim;'s friend, which Ross prepared to show to Tim';s friend the next day. Ross then said. "Mister P needs to see me for 24 hours. He wants me to come late Friday, and I will be home Saturday night. Would you like to come with me or stay home?" Ross asked.
Kayley gave an annoyed sigh. "What I would like to do is punish you! I can see how much pain you're in. I know you have things to do here for your company, but to go there when you should be resting has me very upset" Kayley said.,
"Kale, please. I will leave in 24 hours and be home I promise. No Vegas side trips or anything even if I make no money in OKC I have to do this because there is no other time to" Ross appealed calmly to Kayley.
Kayley let out an annoyed grunt. "GRRRRR you make me so mad sometimes! I know you need to finish something big for Tim's friend. This is not the time to hop around to OKC!" Kayley said.
"Please teacher" Ross said, going to kiss Kayley.
"Yes, and I am going as your babysitter. I am leaving Saturday night, and you had better be on the same plane as me, or else!" Kayley said.
Ross saluted Kayley "Yes, Maam"
On Thursday, Ross met with Tim's friend to explain the detailed project. Ross said. "I can explain it to you, but I already have., Please look it over , over the weekend. I have to go on a one day business trip out of town from late Friday to late Saturday. I can meet you anytime from Monday on, your choice, to discuss or change anything you want" Ross said.
Ross had finished that project.
On Friday afternon, Ross felt so beside himself, he left the office at noon, and went to the local casino , Acqueduct.
"I'm leaving early, bad neck pain. Tim is done, his friend is done , flight to OKC is not until later tonight,. I need to get out of here for a few hours. Will be in Monday. Have a good weekend people"
Ross went to the casino in an Uber, played penny slots, won $500 , took the cash, jumped in an Uber, and ran
When Ross got home, Teacher was all packed and waiting.
Ross kissed Kayley. "Two Fifty for you from a bit of a side trip I took a couple of hours ago to a certain place around here. I'm wiped from the week, and I know that tomorrow wont be easy" Ross said.
"We dont have to kill ourselves to leave tomorrow night if the meeting runs late. I just want to be home by noon Sunday so we can rest, okay. I know that you have not had a good week" Kayley said.
"Teacher's wish will come true. We will be at JFK at noon Sunday the latest"
That night, Ross and Kayley flew to OKC, arriving nearly midnight. They went to their hotel, slept, and met Fritz, Steve, and the investors that Saturday norming.,
The day was spent in the office in OKC with four hours in the oil field, Ross was really fighting it, with his neck pain, and being tired.
After an early dinner, everyone said goodbye. Ross, Fritz and Steve figured that 10 people would sign up, a good trp.
Kayley asked Ross. "How do you feel? Stay tonight, or get out of here"
"Last flight tonight. I want to have sex with you in our own bed sometime tomorrow" Ross said, as Kayley giggled.
Ross and Kayley left OKC at midnight OKC time, 1 am NY time. They got into JFK at 5 am, went home, undressed, and crashed.
At noon that day, Tim rang Ross's cell phone.
"Another smashing success. My friend wants to hire you full time, and has many referrals for you. I think all three of us should meet tomorrow or Tuesday, you will be pleasantly surprised. " Tim said.
"What was that?" Kayley asked.
"Tim just wants a lunch meeting tomorrow. Usual thing. " Ross said, calmly.
Would Tim's friend refer even more work to Ross? Ross was happy, of course. Ross kept thinking about what position or who he could hire to help him with Tim's seemingly consistent referrals.
